Eid Message: FCC Chair Pushes Unity, Fairness As Nigeria Marks End Of Ramadan

At a time when national cohesion remains a pressing concern, the Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hon. Hulayat Omidiran, has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, equity, and inclusion as enduring values beyond the Ramadan season.

In her Eid-ul-Fitr message to Muslim faithful marking the end of the holy month, Omidiran congratulated Nigerians on the successful completion of the fast, praying that their sacrifices, prayers, and acts of charity are accepted and rewarded by Almighty Allah.

She noted that Ramadan symbolises discipline, sacrifice, compassion, and devotion, values she said directly reflect the mandate of the FCC in promoting fairness, justice, and inclusiveness across the country.

“Ramadan reminds us of our shared humanity and the importance of justice and balance in our dealings.

As a nation, we must uphold fairness and inclusivity to ensure that every Nigerian, regardless of background, feels a true sense of belonging,” she stated.

The FCC Chairman urged citizens to sustain these virtues by fostering peaceful coexistence and mutual respect, while calling on leaders at all levels to demonstrate integrity, accountability, and fairness in governance.

She emphasised that nation-building requires collective responsibility, encouraging Nigerians to strengthen unity and uphold principles that guarantee equal opportunity for all.

Omidiran further expressed hope that Eid-ul-Fitr would usher in renewed joy, strength, and commitment to building a more just and inclusive Nigeria.
