Nigerian Journalist To Attempt Guinness World Record For 72-Hour Interview Marathon
At a time when journalism across the world is under increasing pressure, a Nigerian-born international journalist, Livinus Chibuike Victor, is set to spotlight the profession’s enduring value by attempting a Guinness World Record for the longest interviewing marathon.
The Imo State-born journalist will begin the historic attempt on 28 September and run through to 1 October 2025 at the Tangier Hotel, Ekukinam Street, Utako, Abuja.
His goal is to achieve 72 hours and 30 seconds of uninterrupted interviewing under the theme “Nigeria Our Strength.”
Victor said the challenge goes beyond setting a record. It aims to celebrate truth, integrity, and the role of journalists in strengthening democracy by informing the public, holding power to account, and amplifying marginalised voices.
The event will feature activities to engage the public, celebrate press freedom, and honour the sacrifices of journalists worldwide.
Members of the public, media professionals, and civic leaders are invited to attend and show support.
Victor, known globally for his fearless reporting and advocacy for press freedom, has consistently championed transparency and accountability in society.
