Easter Beyond Ritual: Soludo Calls For Selflessness, Unity In A Fractured Nation
At a time when Nigeria continues to grapple with social and economic pressures, Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has urged Christians to look beyond the symbolism of Easter and embrace its deeper call to selflessness, sacrifice and national unity.
In his Easter message to Christians in Anambra and across the country, Governor Soludo described the season as the cornerstone of the Christian faith, emphasising that the resurrection of Jesus Christ represents the triumph of light over darkness, hope over despair, and life over death.
According to him, Easter is not merely a historical commemoration but a timeless reminder of redemption and renewal, urging believers to remain steadfast in faith while embodying values that promote peace and collective progress.
The governor called on Christians to reflect deeply on the virtues of love, forgiveness and reconciliation, stressing that Christ’s sacrifice underscores the importance of putting others first and choosing peace even in the face of adversity.
He further expressed hope that the season would inspire renewed unity and a shared commitment to building a more just and harmonious society.
Governor Soludo also wished Christians a joyful Easter celebration, praying that the message of the resurrection would bring peace to homes and rekindle hope across the nation.
