Tinubu Renews Tenure Of Three Top Federal Permanent Secretaries
In a move seen as a vote of confidence in experienced leadership within Nigeria’s public service, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the renewal of tenure for three Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service.
The decision grants a second and final four-year term to Ms Kachallom Shangti Daju, Permanent Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare; Mrs Beatrice Jedy-Agba, Solicitor-General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Justice; and Dr Mary Ada Ogbe, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Regional Development.
According to a statement from the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, the renewed appointments will take effect from 27 April 2026 and are in line with Public Service Rule 020909, which allows Permanent Secretaries an initial four-year tenure, renewable once based on satisfactory performance.
Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, congratulated the officials and urged them to treat the renewed mandate as a call to deepen professionalism, dedication and excellence in service delivery.
She also encouraged them to deploy their experience and expertise in advancing effective governance and strengthening Nigeria’s public service.
