Operation FANSAN YAMMA Rescues Kidnap Victim, Foils Sokoto Attack
Swift intervention by troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA has rescued a kidnap victim in Kaduna State and disrupted a terrorist attack in Sokoto State.
Troops of Sector 1, on 20 August, responded to a distress call over the abduction of a 43-year-old man in Awon Community, Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The troops pursued the kidnappers into nearby bushes, forcing them to abandon the victim and flee. He was later reunited with his family.
In a separate operation on 21 August, troops of Sector 2, supported by local security personnel, repelled terrorists who attacked Kwaren Gamba Village in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The attackers were forced to retreat, with troops pursuing them and neutralising one terrorist. Two mobile phones, cash, an ATM card, recharge cards and other items were recovered.
Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, said the operation demonstrated the military’s continued resolve to deny terrorists freedom of action across the North-West.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with timely and credible information to support ongoing efforts to restore peace in the region.
