Father Impregnates Daughter Leading To 5 Abortions In 6 Years
When a father who is supposed to be a protector becomes the perpetrator, all hell is let loose.
This is the case of a man identified as Oluwadamilare Ewedemi who is currently cooling off in police custody after he was alleged to have sexually abused his biological daughter for over six years.
The 21-year-old daughter had reported her father at the Ifo divisional headquarters of the Ogun State Police Command claiming he impregnated her and forced her to have an abortion five times.
The victim who lost her mother when she was a baby grew up in a motherless baby home, in Ikeja, Lagos but when she turned 13 years old in 2019, her father took her to Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State and that was when her ordeal of sexual assaults began.
She claimed she became tired of the assaults and decided to seek refuge hence she reported her father to the Police Command.
She spoke of how her father subjected her to sexual slavery and abuse over the years leading to five abortions in 6 years.
The Ogun State Police spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed the arrest saying the young lady escaped from home on February 1, 2026, following unrestrained harassment from her father and took refuge at a church in Pakoto mountain.
“On 26/03/2026, a lady aged 21 years, reported to the Ifo Division that she had been subjected to sexual abuse by her biological father.
“During this period, she became pregnant five times, and her father reportedly procured an abortion for each pregnancy.
“Thanks to the swift and decisive leadership of CSP Kamorudeen, DPO Ifo, operatives of the Ifo Division acted immediately on the tip-off and successfully arrested the suspect, Oluwadamilare Ewedemi,” Babaseyi said.
According to the police spokesperson, upon conclusion of investigations, the suspect will be duly prosecuted.
The arrest sends a strong signal that no matter how old or close a crime is, justice is sure as long as the victim is willing to speak up
