NAF Intensifies Precision Strikes, Decimates ISWAP and Bandit Hideouts Across Northern Nigeria
In a renewed show of force and intelligence-driven warfare, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its nationwide counterterrorism operations with a wave of precision airstrikes that neutralised dozens of terrorists and destroyed multiple hideouts across five northern states.
The coordinated air operations, carried out on 9 November 2025, targeted Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) strongholds in Borno State and bandit enclaves in Kwara, Katsina, Zamfara, and Kaduna States.
In Borno, NAF aircraft executed successful interdiction missions in Mallam Fatori and Shuwaram, striking ISWAP camps and logistics hubs based on real-time intelligence.
The strikes reportedly killed several insurgents and crippled their mobility and operational networks along the Lake Chad Basin.
Similar operations were launched in Kwara State, where precision attacks on Garin Dandi and Chigogo bandit camps inflicted heavy casualties and disrupted criminal activities.
In Katsina, a major terrorist hideout at Zango Hill in Kankara Local Government Area was also decimated, eliminating a notorious kingpin and his fighters.
Further demonstrating its expanded reach, the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA conducted armed reconnaissance missions across Zamfara, Kebbi, and Kaduna States, neutralising terrorists spotted fleeing on motorcycles near Wam Hill along the Birnin Gwari–Funtua axis.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, said the operations reflect the directives of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, to deploy smarter, intelligence-led airpower in protecting citizens and sustaining national security.
