Why Tinubu’s New Housing Plan Could Change The Lives Of Police Families Forever

Police officers across Nigeria are set to benefit from a landmark housing initiative recently approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aimed at addressing one of the force’s most pressing welfare needs.

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, announced the development on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, at Force Headquarters, Abuja.

He revealed that thousands of affordable housing units would be delivered nationwide to improve the living conditions of police personnel.

Dangiwa, accompanied by Senior Ministry Officials, also proposed a National Task Force, comprising the Police and other key agencies to recover and protect encroached federal government lands that have stalled critical projects.

He praised the Police Force for its professionalism and resilience, stressing that better welfare through housing would enhance their effectiveness in safeguarding lives and property.

Responding, IGP Egbetokun welcomed the initiative, describing it as a direct boost to police welfare and operational efficiency.

The IGP, pledged full support for the task force, adding that protecting government assets was a matter of urgent national importance.
