IGP Egbetokun Hosts Strategic Conference, Rolls Out Two-Month Crime-Fighting Scorecard
The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Kayode Egbetokun, has commended senior police officers for their dedication and proactive efforts in tackling crime across the country.
Speaking during a strategic conference held on Monday, July 29, 2025, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, the IGP acknowledged remarkable achievements recorded between June and July, including the arrest of 5,488 suspects linked to kidnapping, robbery, cultism, and homicide.
Also recovered were 316 firearms, nearly 3,000 rounds of ammunition, 216 stolen or unregistered vehicles, and the rescue of 170 kidnapped victims, some from remote and challenging terrains.
IGP Egbetokun urged the senior officers—ranging from Commissioners of Police upwards—to remain resolute and results-driven, noting that leadership in the Force is earned through tough, lifesaving decisions.
He reiterated the need to embrace intelligence-led policing and technology to stay ahead of evolving security threats, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of both serving and retired officers.
The conference ended with a renewed pledge by all present to strengthen grassroots engagement and implement policies that will keep Nigeria safe and secure.
