The Federation of Mbaise Media Professionals (FMMP) has announced plans to honour several distinguished personalities with Awards of Excellence during its 2026 Pre-Iriji Mbaise Lecture Series and Awards.
Among those to be recognised are the Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Professor James Okoroma; renowned Oil and Gas Entrepreneur and CEO/MD of Calaya Engineering Services Limited, Mr. Tony Osuagwu and former Imo State Commissioner for Homeland Security and Vigilante Affairs, Dr. Ugoji Okechukwu Ugorjii for their outstanding contributions to society and national development.
The event is scheduled to hold on Thursday, 13 August 2026, at Chris VI Hotels, Ahiara, Mbaise, Imo State.
The ceremony will be chaired by the President General of Ezuruezu Mbaise, Sir Surv. Joe Anosikeh, and is expected to attract traditional rulers, government officials, media practitioners, business leaders, professionals, and other stakeholders from within and outside Mbaise.
According to the organisers, the annual lecture series and awards are designed to celebrate excellence, promote leadership, and encourage individuals whose achievements have positively impacted their communities and the nation. The event will also provide a platform for discussions on issues of public interest and the development of Mbaise and Nigeria.
