Nigeria Secures Fifth INTERPOL Africa Committee Seat As CP Ojajuni Wins Election
Nigeria has strengthened its footprint on the global security stage as Commissioner of Police, Olubode Ojajuni, clinched victory in a keenly contested election to join the INTERPOL Africa Committee.
The election, held during the 27th African Regional Conference in Cape Town, South Africa, earned Nigeria its fifth seat on the Committee with a two-year tenure.
The INTERPOL Africa Committee advises on crime-fighting priorities across the continent, facilitates regional sessions, and drives cross-border police cooperation to tackle transnational crimes, terrorism, and other emerging threats.
Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, congratulated CP Ojajuni, describing the win as a testament to Nigeria’s growing influence in international policing.
He reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to professionalism, integrity, and global collaboration in promoting peace and security.
