Troops Kill Terrorist Kingpin, Arrest Two Suspects In Katsina
Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have dealt a blow to terrorist networks in Katsina State, neutralising two terrorists, including a known kingpin, Abbah Alhassan, and arresting two suspected members of a terrorist group.
The operation, conducted on 15 September 2026, followed intelligence on plans to attack communities in Matazu and Kankara Local Government Areas.
Troops of Sector 2 moved against the terrorists’ hideout and engaged them in a firefight. Two terrorists, including Alhassan, were neutralised while others fled into the surrounding bush.
Recovered during the operation were 10 rounds of ammunition, a motorcycle, a cutlass, camouflage clothing and Indian hemp.
In a separate operation around Yantumaki in Dan Musa LGA, troops arrested two suspected terrorists allegedly linked to a terrorist kingpin identified as Mannori.
The suspects are being held for further investigation as troops intensify operations to dismantle terrorist networks and protect communities across the Joint Operations Area.
