Police Rescue Seven Kidnap Victims, Arrest 14 Suspects, Recover Arms In n Nationwide Operations
The latest police operational report shows a broad security push across several states, with seven kidnapped victims rescued, 14 suspects arrested and firearms recovered in operations between 15 and 16 September 2026.
In Katsina, police repelled a bandit attack in Makwanta Village, Dutsin-Ma LGA, rescuing three victims and recovering an AK-47 rifle loaded with five rounds of ammunition, alongside other exhibits.
In Anambra, operatives and vigilantes foiled a kidnapping operation in Abagana, Njikoka LGA, rescuing two victims and recovering an abandoned Highlander Jeep.
Five suspected armed robbers were also arrested in a separate operation in Old Nkpor, where a stolen tricycle was recovered.
Delta State police arrested four suspected kidnappers in Asaba and rescued two victims, including one whose family had reportedly paid ransom without securing his release. Mobile phones, ATM cards, jewellery and wristwatches were recovered.
In the FCT, one suspected armed robber was killed during a gun duel with police at Sauka Village, Kuje, while other members of the gang reportedly fled.
Police also reported the recovery of an AK-47 and ammunition in Rivers, firearms and suspected cannabis in Kaduna, the arrest of three suspects over a stolen vehicle in Oyo, and three suspects linked to a violent attack in Nasarawa.
The affected State Criminal Investigation Departments are handling the investigations.
