Nigeria Police Strengthen Global Footprint As Three Officers Graduate In Abu Dhabi

In a world where crime increasingly crosses borders, Nigeria’s policing strategy is also going global, investing in international partnerships to sharpen skills, boost intelligence sharing and strengthen operational response.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to international capacity building as three Nigerian officers graduated from the Abu Dhabi Police College in the United Arab Emirates.

Represented by the Commissioner of Police, INTERPOL Lagos Annexe, CP Bode Ojajuni, the IGP said the training reflects the NPF’s drive to align with global best practices in law enforcement and enhance professionalism across the Force.

The officers, DSP Abdullah Yusuf, ASP Faith Asigidi and Inspector Noah Joseph, all from the INTERPOL Bureau, were part of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the UAE Ministry of Interior Police Academy Exchange Programme.

The four-month training brought together 52 officers from 44 police agencies across 35 countries.

The graduation ceremony, attended by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, alongside senior Emirati officials and international dignitaries, underscored the growing importance of international cooperation in tackling transnational crime.

The development highlights Nigeria’s expanding role in global policing networks and its commitment to equipping officers with world-class skills to better protect citizens at home.
