NAWOJ FCT Chairperson Sets 2026 Agenda On Capacity Building and Women’s Advancement
As advocacy for women’s rights and inclusion continues to gain momentum across Nigeria, the leadership of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), FCT Chapter, has outlined a renewed vision anchored on growth, skills development and collective progress in the New Year.
In a New Year message to members, partners and friends of the association, the Chairperson of NAWOJ FCT, Comrade Bassey Ita Ikpang, commended members for their resilience, unity and unwavering commitment to the ideals of the association throughout the past year.
Reflecting on 2025, she noted that NAWOJ FCT’s efforts were largely centred on grassroots advocacy, standing with communities, amplifying the voices of women and girls, and pushing for change at critical levels.
According to her, these engagements, though challenging, strengthened the association’s visibility and resolve.
Looking ahead to 2026, the Chairperson announced a strategic shift towards intentional capacity building and the personal and professional development of members.
She explained that the focus would be on strengthening skills, leadership capacity and creating opportunities that would position NAWOJ FCT members for greater impact and excellence in the media and advocacy space.
She called for continued cooperation, patience and understanding among members, stressing that unity of purpose remains key to achieving greater heights as an association.
Comrade Ikpang concluded by wishing members and partners a New Year filled with good health, peace, growth and remarkable achievements.
