Troops Foil Abduction Attempt, Rescue 14 In Zamfara
Fourteen kidnapped victims have been rescued after troops foiled an attempted abduction in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, acted on credible intelligence about suspicious activity around Magazu Village on Wednesday, 26 August.
They encountered armed men attempting to abduct civilians, including motorists, and engaged them in a gun battle.
The attackers abandoned their vehicle and fled into nearby bushes.
A subsequent pursuit and search led to the rescue of 14 victims.
One victim, who sustained gunshot wounds, was taken to General Hospital, Tsafe, for treatment.
No security personnel were injured or killed in the operation.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by the troops to disrupt criminal activities and protect civilians in Zamfara State.
