Troops Crush Terrorists, Foil Suicide Bombing In North-East Nigeria
In a renewed show of resilience and tactical superiority, Nigerian troops under Operation Hadin Kai have dealt a major blow to terrorists operating across the North-East, neutralising several threats and reclaiming control of key areas between October 25 and 31, 2025.
The operations, conducted across Borno and Adamawa States, saw the military thwart attempted suicide bombings, disrupt smuggling networks, and arrest suspected insurgents plotting fresh attacks.
In one of the most daring encounters, troops in Kukawa repelled a Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) assault. Despite the vehicle’s heavy armour deflecting initial RPG fire, a T-55 tank neutralised it before it could cause mass casualties.
A 10-year-old girl suffered minor injuries and was treated at a medical facility.
Elsewhere, soldiers and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) discovered and safely disposed of three Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) along the Dikwa–Ajiri route, averting possible sabotage of major supply lines.
In Gwoza and Bama axes, ambush operations forced insurgents into disarray, killing at least two terrorists and recovering arms, ammunition, and bicycles used for logistics.
Troops also intercepted smugglers transporting fuel in Adamawa State and, acting on intelligence, arrested five suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP collaborators in Madagali with military uniforms, ammunition, and drugs.
Supported by the Air Component Command’s precision strikes and surveillance, the operations culminated in the recovery of weapons, ammunition, and the neutralisation of several terrorists.
The Military High Command has commended the troops’ bravery and professionalism, reaffirming its commitment to defeating terrorism and restoring peace to the North-East.
