Nigeria, Argentina To Strengthen Ties Through Cultural and Media Exchange

The Federal Government of Nigeria and the Republic of Argentina have pledged to deepen their long-standing diplomatic relations through enhanced cooperation in information exchange, cultural diplomacy, and media collaboration.

This commitment was reaffirmed when the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, received the Argentine Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Mr Nicholas Perrazo Nao, during a courtesy visit in Abuja.

Idris described the meeting as a step toward strengthening mutual understanding between both nations, noting that Nigeria and Argentina share a rich history of friendship built on respect and global cooperation.

“Our Ministry remains committed to fostering collaboration that promotes mutual understanding, especially in the area of public communication, cultural diplomacy, and people-to-people exchange,” the Minister stated.

Ambassador Perrazo, in his remarks, commended Nigeria’s leadership role on the African continent and stressed the importance of accurate information in bridging cultural gaps between nations.

He also highlighted the symbolic nature of the visit, which coincided with a friendly football match between the under-20 teams of both countries—a reflection of their shared passion for sports and culture.

Both parties expressed optimism about expanding cooperation between Nigerian and Argentine media institutions and sustaining dialogue to strengthen bilateral relations.
