The United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills, has met with civil society representatives to exchange views on strengthening security, countering terrorism, and safeguarding religious freedom across the country.

The meeting, held yesterday, provided a platform for Nigerian civil society actors to share their perspectives and recommendations on addressing insecurity and protecting fundamental rights.

According to a post on the official X handle of the US Embassy in Nigeria, Ambassador Mills emphasised Washington’s commitment to working closely with local stakeholders in advancing peace, stability, and freedom of worship.

The discussions form part of ongoing US–Nigeria engagement aimed at supporting inclusive solutions to the nation’s pressing security challenges.
