APGA Only Platform For Igbo Political Negotiation – Onyebuchi Chukwu
As political realignments intensify ahead of future elections, the question of how Ndigbo engage Nigeria’s power structure has resurfaced, with renewed calls for unity under a single, culturally rooted platform.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has been reaffirmed as the only authentic political voice capable of negotiating and protecting Igbo interests within Nigeria’s political landscape.
This position was articulated by the National Youth Leader of APGA, Comrade Dr. (Hon.) Amb. Eze Onyebuchi Chukwu, who described the party as the “political soul of the Igbo nation,” was founded on identity, vision, and collective destiny rather than convenience.
He commended the people of Anambra State for consistently upholding the legacy of the party, noting that APGA was the final political wish of the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.
According to him, Anambra’s governance under APGA has demonstrated that the party combines identity with competence and progressive leadership.
Chukwu also called on Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, to return to APGA, arguing that a united front led by Governors Charles Soludo and Otti would strengthen the party’s regional influence and national bargaining power.
In the same vein, he urged Senator Victor Umeh and Senator Tony Nwoye to realign with APGA, warning that continued absence from the party could weaken their political relevance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Describing APGA as the only party that genuinely reflects Igbo ideology, Chukwu emphasised its commitment to community-first leadership, participatory democracy, integrity, and shared prosperity.
He concluded with a rallying call for Igbo leaders, youths, professionals, and traditional institutions to end political fragmentation and unite under APGA in 2026, stressing that “a divided people cannot negotiate effectively.”
