NUJ FCT Hails Madaki’s Appointment As AMAC Chief Press Secretary

The growing recognition of media professionals in governance has received another boost as the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, congratulated veteran journalist Kingsley Rufus Madaki on his appointment as Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Council described Madaki’s appointment by AMAC Chairman, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, as a reflection of his professionalism, competence and dedication to journalism and public communication.

NUJ FCT Council Chairman, Grace Ike, said the appointment was a proud moment for the media community in the Federal Capital Territory and evidence of the increasing recognition of journalists as vital partners in governance and development communication.

“We are delighted to celebrate one of our own as he takes on this new and important responsibility,” she said, noting that the appointment was a testament to hard work, integrity and the values promoted by the Union.

The Council urged Madaki to deploy his wealth of experience in advancing effective public communication while upholding transparency and accountability in his new role.

The NUJ FCT Council also wished him a successful and impactful tenure, assuring him of the Union’s continued support as he undertakes his responsibilities in service to the people of the Federal Capital Territory.
