NAF C-130 Touches Down Safely In Portugal For Critical Maintenance
In a period when military aviation safety and fleet sustainability are under close public scrutiny, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded another smooth and confidence-boosting operational movement.
The Nigerian Air Force has confirmed the safe arrival of its C-130 aircraft, NAF 913, at the OGMA maintenance facility in Lisbon, Portugal, for scheduled depot maintenance.
The aircraft successfully completed the ferry flight on Thursday, 26 December 2025, transiting through Banjul and Casablanca in line with an updated flight plan and established aviation safety procedures.
Both the aircraft and its crew arrived without incident, marking the final phase of the deployment for the planned maintenance programme.
All personnel involved are reported to be safe and in high spirits.
In a statement signed by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the NAF expressed appreciation to the host authorities for their cooperation and support throughout the transit.
The Air Force also reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the highest standards of safety, professionalism and operational accountability.
The successful movement underscores the NAF’s focus on proactive aircraft maintenance as a key pillar for sustaining air power readiness and operational efficiency.
