Soludo’s Son Brings Christmas Relief, Clears Hospital Bills Across Anambra
At a time when many families are weighed down by the rising cost of healthcare, an unexpected act of kindness restored hope and dignity to patients across Anambra State on Christmas Day.
Chinua Soludo, son of Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, spread festive cheer by paying the medical bills of several patients during surprise visits to hospitals in Adazi-Nnukwu, Nnobi and Ekwulobia.
The Christmas outreach moved patients, relatives and even hospital staff, as many beneficiaries reportedly broke down in tears, offering prayers and heartfelt blessings in appreciation of the gesture.
At St Joseph Hospital, Adazi-Nnukwu in Anaocha Local Government Area, Chinua cleared the outstanding bills of over five patients.
Some were also given transport support to enable them return home and celebrate Christmas with their loved ones.
One of the most emotional cases involved a woman detained after discharge over an unpaid bill of ₦933,500, which he settled in full, alongside her transport fare.
At Nnobi General Hospital, a patient treated for acute malaria had a bill exceeding ₦120,000 paid, while the outreach at Ekwulobia General Hospital saw nearly ten women benefit from bill payments and transport assistance.
This humanitarian gesture is not new. Around the same period last year, Chinua Soludo similarly cleared the medical bills of dozens of patients at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Awka.
Many have described the act as a rare and powerful expression of compassion, embodying the true spirit of Christmas and offering a reminder that leadership can also be shown through empathy and quiet service.
