Troops Foil Terror Supply Chain, Neutralise IED In Borno
As insurgents increasingly rely on covert logistics to sustain their operations, Nigerian troops in the North East have dealt a significant blow to Boko Haram and ISWAP networks, uncovering deadly devices and intercepting vital supplies meant for the terrorists.
Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, under Operations Desert Sanity IV and V, have recorded fresh operational successes in Borno State with the discovery and neutralisation of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and the arrest of suspected terrorist logistics suppliers.
During a Main Supply Route patrol along the Damboa–Komala axis on 17 December 2025, troops of 25 Brigade uncovered an IED planted along the route.
The explosive was promptly secured and safely detonated, averting potential harm to both military personnel and civilians using the road.
In a related operation on 19 December 2025, acting on credible intelligence, troops deployed at a checkpoint along the Maiduguri–Bama Road intercepted a Lagos-registered vehicle suspected to be ferrying logistics for Boko Haram/ISWAP elements.
The vehicle was found conveying large quantities of food items and energy drinks believed to be destined for terrorists operating around Kirawa Ward in Gwoza Local Government Area.
Two suspects were arrested during the operation, while recovered items included assorted food supplies, energy drinks, three mobile phones, an identity card, a ring, and sums of money in both Naira and CFA.
The suspects and exhibits have been handed over to military intelligence for further investigation.
The Military High Command commended the troops for their vigilance and professionalism, urging them to sustain the momentum as efforts continue to deny terrorists freedom of action and dismantle their logistics networks across the North East.
