Awkuzu Emerges Authentic Champion Of Anambra Day 2025 After Result Review
In a dramatic turn of events, the Awkuzu Progressive Union, Abuja Branch, has officially been declared the overall winner of the Anambra Day 2025 Cultural Celebration after an error in the initial results was uncovered and corrected.
The cultural fiesta, which celebrates the rich heritage and traditions of Anambra communities in Abuja, initially saw Awkuzu placed third, a result that raised eyebrows among members who believed their outstanding performance merited the top spot.
According to the Union, a meticulous post-event review revealed a 25-mark omission from Awkuzu’s total score by one of the judges, a discovery that significantly altered the standings.
Upon presenting their findings to the Anambra State Towns’ People’s Assembly (ASTPA) and the Local Organising Committee (LOC), an emergency meeting was convened to re-examine the scores.
Following the review, ASTPA leadership admitted the error, issued an apology, and released a corrected version of the results, duly endorsed by all judges.
The verified scores confirmed Awkuzu as the authentic champion of the 2025 celebration, with an impressive 276 points.
Expressing gratitude, Chief Nnamdi Nwabufo, Chairman of the Awkuzu Progressive Union Abuja Branch, commended ASTPA and the LOC for their integrity and willingness to “course correct and uphold the facts.”
With songs of victory echoing through the Awkuzu community, the Union reaffirmed its pride and unity under the banner: “Awkuzu Ibilibeogada, We are the Champions!”
