Tinubu: Nigeria’s Economy Has Turned The Corner
President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the country’s economy is on the path to recovery, declaring that “there is light at the end of the tunnel.”
Speaking on Friday in Ibadan at the coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Sen.) Abdul-Rashidi Ladoja, the President said his administration’s reforms, though tough, were beginning to yield results.
“I am honoured to bring the cheering news that our economy has turned around. Nigerians will soon enjoy the fruits of the sacrifices they have made,” he said, thanking citizens for their patience and resilience.
President Tinubu also hailed the new Olubadan, describing him as a rare leader who had contributed significantly to Nigeria’s democracy, particularly for overcoming an impeachment during his time as governor of Oyo State.
Governor Seyi Makinde, who presented the staff of office and certificate to Oba Ladoja, said the coronation had resolved long-standing disputes within Ibadan’s traditional system, ensuring a more peaceful process in the future.
Oba Ladoja, in his remarks, said his ascension to the throne was an act of destiny and pledged to uphold the responsibilities of his office.
The event was attended by traditional rulers, former and serving governors, and political leaders, with Tinubu describing his presence in Ibadan as a “homecoming.”
