Fubara Declares Rivers Political Crisis Over After Meeting Tinubu
Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared that the political crisis in the state is over following a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Monday.
Fubara, who resumed office on 19 September after his suspension was lifted, said it was only proper to first brief the president and express gratitude before settling fully into his duties.
Speaking to State House correspondents, the governor described the meeting as a “father-son discussion,” noting that Tinubu advised him on how to sustain peace and stability in the state.
On concerns that the truce in Rivers might be short-lived, Fubara was emphatic: “As far as I’m concerned, we have made peace. Fubara and his principal are working together.
