Nigeria Military Records Major Gains Against Terrorists, Oil Thieves
The Armed Forces of Nigeria say they have intensified operations across the country, killing terrorist commanders, rescuing kidnap victims, and foiling oil theft worth hundreds of millions of naira.
In its monthly operational update, the Defence Headquarters, through the Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, disclosed that troops neutralised notorious terrorist leaders including Adamu Buba, known as Mai-Pankshin, in Plateau State and Abdullahi Abubakar, who had long terrorised Rafiki village in Bassa.
Several kidnappers and gunrunners were also arrested in Kaduna, Kogi and Niger States.
In the South-South, troops under Operation Delta Safe prevented the theft of crude oil and refined products valued at over ₦545 million.
They destroyed nearly 100 illegal refining sites and seized massive quantities of stolen petroleum.
Troops in the North East sustained pressure on Boko Haram and ISWAP, eliminating dozens of fighters, rescuing abductees, and recovering weapons in Borno and Adamawa States.
Similar successes were recorded in the North West and North Central, where dozens of terrorists and criminals were arrested, while kidnapped victims were freed.
Major General Kangye, commended the troops for their courage and professionalism, urging the public to rely on verified information as operations continue nationwide.
