FG Defends Tinubu’s Record, Says All Regions Benefit From Projects
The Federal Government has dismissed claims of lopsided development under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, insisting that his administration has been “fair, pragmatic, and inclusive” in distributing projects and appointments across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
In a statement issued by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, the government described recent allegations of bias as “half-truths and fake information,” stressing that major road, rail, power and health projects are being executed simultaneously across the North and South.
According to verifiable data cited by the minister, the North-West has received the largest share of approvals ₦5.97 trillion, representing over 40%, while significant infrastructure is also underway in the South, including the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, East–West Road, and rehabilitation of key bridges in Lagos.
Rail projects in Kano, Kaduna, Lagos and Ogun, alongside the Port Harcourt–Maiduguri line, are also receiving heavy investment.
Idris further highlighted the rehabilitation of more than 1,000 primary healthcare centres nationwide and new Regional Development Commissions as evidence of inclusivity.
He stressed that equity is equally reflected in federal appointments, with Tinubu prioritising competence and representation.
“President Tinubu is building national infrastructure, not local trophies,” the minister said. “No region is being ignored; all Nigerians are part of his Renewed Hope Agenda.”
