Nigeria Mourns Ambassador Taofik Obasanjo Coker, Consul General In Buea
Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the death of Ambassador Taofik Obasanjo Coker, the country’s Consul General in Buea, Republic of Cameroon. He passed away on Saturday, 16 August 2025, after a brief illness.
Ambassador Coker, a seasoned career diplomat, was praised for his diligence, professionalism, and years of service in strengthening Nigeria’s foreign relations. Before his posting to Buea, he served meritoriously in Nigeria’s Missions in Conakry, Guinea, and Shanghai, China.
In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the Ministry described his passing as a painful loss to his family, colleagues, and the diplomatic community, and prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul.
