Tuggar Hails Super Falcons’ 10th WAFCON Title, Applauds Their Spirit and Symbolism
Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has joined millions of Nigerians in celebrating the Super Falcons’ stunning 3–2 victory over Morocco to clinch their 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title.
In a congratulatory message, Ambassador Tuggar praised the team’s resilience, unity, and fighting spirit, calling them “true ambassadors of Nigerian excellence on the global stage.”
“The Super Falcons have once again shown what it means to represent Nigeria with pride and purpose,” he said. “Their determination and consistency reflect the values we cherish as a nation.”
He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support for sports development, as well as Mr. Shehu Dikko and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for their strategic leadership in women’s football.
According to the Minister, the Falcons’ victory goes beyond sport—it is a symbol of Nigeria’s strength, unity, and global influence. “This win inspires young girls across Africa and shows that excellence knows no gender,” he added.
Tuggar reaffirmed his Ministry’s dedication to strengthening Nigeria’s soft power through sports diplomacy and global engagement.
