Air Chief Visits Kebbi, Vows To Root Out Criminal Elements

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has assured residents of Kebbi State that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is fully prepared to protect lives and property, pledging swift and decisive action against any threats to peace in the region.

During an operational assessment visit on Saturday, 10 August, Air Marshal Abubakar met with Governor Mohammed Nasir Idris, top military commanders, and other security chiefs.

He described Kebbi as a “strategic gateway” due to its international borders with Benin and Niger, stressing that what affects the state has direct implications for the entire North-West.

“I am highly impressed with what I saw on the ground,” the Air Chief said, praising the readiness of troops and the state of security infrastructure.

He promised intensified intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations, while commending strong cooperation among the Army, Police, DSS, Civil Defence, and other agencies.

Governor Idris, in turn, lauded the vigilance and sacrifices of security forces, crediting them for keeping Kebbi largely peaceful despite regional challenges.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting all security outfits in safeguarding the state.

The visit, which included inspections of key NAF facilities, reinforced the Air Force’s strategy of combining air power, intelligence, and inter-agency partnerships to maintain stability across Nigeria.
