NAF Air Support Disrupts Kidnappers’ Operation In Benue
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has disrupted the activities of suspected kidnappers in Ogbadigbo, Benue State, close to the Enugu-Benue boundary, during a coordinated air-and-ground operation.
The NAF provided close air support to surface forces advancing on the suspected criminal elements, helping to disrupt their activities and support the troops’ operation.
The Air Force said the helicopter involved later made a precautionary landing about 10 nautical miles from its base after the mission.
The pilot’s decision was described as a professional safety measure in line with established procedures following combat operations.
The helicopter has since returned safely to base.
The statement signed by the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said NAF would continue coordinated air and ground operations to deny criminal groups freedom of action and support efforts to restore security in affected communities.
