Nigerian Troops Tighten Grip On Terrorists, Bandits and Oil Thieves
The Armed Forces of Nigeria have recorded sweeping successes across all regions in the past week, intensifying operations against terrorists, bandits and criminal networks.
From the North East to the South South, troops launched raids, ambushes and air strikes that killed scores of Boko Haram, ISWAP and JAS fighters, dismantled their hideouts and rescued dozens of kidnapped victims.
In the North West, operations in Katsina, Zamfara, Kebbi and Sokoto States freed hostages and left several terrorists dead.
Meanwhile, forces in the North Central region—under Operations Safe Haven and Whirl Stroke—arrested gunrunners and extremists, seized weapons and recovered stolen cash.
The South South theatre saw troops foil oil theft worth over ₦73 million, destroying illegal refining sites and arresting nine suspects, while in the South East, suspected IPOB/ESN members were detained and weapons confiscated.
Military spokesperson Major General Markus Kangye praised the troops’ courage and vowed operations would continue to protect farmers and restore peace nationwide.
