Mass Defection In Nri Spells Doom For Ekwunife’s Political Future

In what many are calling a political turning point, the people of Nri Kingdom have thrown their weight behind the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), signalling a potential end to Senator Uche Ekwunife’s decades-long influence in Anambra politics.

At a packed community gathering earlier this week, Nri residents warmly welcomed Governor Charles Soludo, whom they invited to affirm their full support for his re-election bid.

The event wasn’t just about backing Soludo—it was a bold statement against what locals described as years of political deception and unmet promises under Ekwunife’s watch.

Top on their list of grievances was the long-abandoned 3.2-kilometre Nri–Agbanabo – Nimo road. Community leaders lamented that the road has remained untouched for over 30 years despite Ekwunife’s time in office.

However, hope has been rekindled as Governor Soludo recently flagged off construction on the project, promising swift delivery.

This mass exodus from Ekwunife’s political camp reflects growing discontent. Nri’s people are demanding true representation and a break from what they describe as politics driven by self-interest.

Many now believe Ekwunife has lost touch with grassroots realities, and her political retirement rumoured to be looming by 8 November is widely anticipated.

As the dust settles, one thing is clear: Nri is ready for a new chapter, and the message is loud and clear—accountability is back on the ballot.
