The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has dealt a major blow to terrorists operating within the volatile Timbuktu Triangle.
Acting on credible intelligence, NAF fighter jets under Operation Hadin Kai launched precision airstrikes north of Chiralia over the weekend, neutralising several terrorists and destroying three gun trucks.
The strike followed reports of insurgents moving with heavy weaponry from Sabon Gari towards Chiralia.
Responding swiftly, NAF pilots unleashed rockets and cannon fire, wiping out two gun trucks hidden beneath trees.
A third vehicle, as it attempted to escape, was also obliterated in a follow-up strike.
The mission, which left scores of terrorists dead and their equipment in flames, has significantly disrupted insurgent activities in the area.
According to Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Airforce Headquarters, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, the operation reinforces the NAF’s commitment to eliminating terrorist threats and supporting ground troops in restoring security across Nigeria’s North-East.
