FG Bolsters Healthcare Access With Fresh Appointments In Kafanchan, Hawul

Quality healthcare remains a critical pillar for development, hence the Federal Government is taking deliberate steps to bridge service delivery gaps in underserved areas.
At a formal ceremony held in Abuja, the Minister of State for Health & Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Salako, presented appointment letters to two newly appointed Medical Directors, tasked with steering new federal health facilities in Northern Nigeria.
Dr. Ali Ramat was appointed Medical Director of the newly established National Orthopaedic Hospital Azare, Hawul, Borno State, while Dr. Haruna Shehu takes the helm at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Kafanchan, Kaduna State.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Salako charged the appointees to lead with resilience and dedication. “These are new hospitals, so obviously you will face some teething problems,” he noted, adding that Kafanchan holds special interest for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu due to its strategic importance and recent development projects in the area.
Dr. Salako urged them to build strong relationships with host communities and stakeholders to advance President Tinubu’s health sector agenda.
Responding on behalf of the appointees, Dr. Shehu pledged unwavering commitment to excellence and thanked the President for the trust placed in them.
The appointments mark another milestone in the government’s efforts to strengthen healthcare access and infrastructure, particularly in regions historically underserved.
