Retirement: A New Chapter, Not An End – CAS Reassures Graduands At NAFRC Ceremony

Retirement marks the beginning of a new journey, not the end, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, assured retiring military personnel at the graduation ceremony of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) Participants Course 02/2024.

The event, held on December 12, 2024, in Oshodi, Lagos, celebrated the commitment and discipline of the graduands as they transition into civilian life.

Air Marshal Abubakar, who was the Special Guest of Honour, praised the six-month training programme, which equips retiring personnel with vital entrepreneurial and management skills encouraged the graduands, saying “with the training, discipline, and skills you have acquired, and God’s guidance, you will enjoy a prosperous future.”

He also paid tribute to fallen heroes and commended the families of retirees for their unwavering support.

The CAS reaffirmed the Armed Forces’ dedication to the welfare of both serving and retired personnel, expressing gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for advancing military capacity development.

The ceremony, hosted by NAFRC Commandant Air Vice Marshal Bashir Mamman, featured an exhibition of graduands’ creations and the commissioning of a 54-unit ensuite hostel block donated by the Nigerian Air Force. Distinguished guests included members of DEPOWA, NAFOWA, and other dignitaries.

Graduates were urged to become role models in their communities, carrying forward the discipline and courage that defined their military careers.
