In an effort to protect power infrastructure and support ongoing restoration efforts, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) launched targeted airstrikes on November 1, 2024, neutralising terrorist positions in Niger State’s Alawa Forest.

This strategic intervention is part of a coordinated mission to ensure uninterrupted electricity restoration in Kaduna and other northwestern states.

Based on intelligence gathered through extensive surveillance missions, NAF identified terrorist fighters preparing to sabotage power restoration projects and acted swiftly on this information.

NAF’s air component deployed precise firepower, successfully dismantling the threat and neutralising several fighters. Overhead, NAF crews engaged the terrorists with precision, disrupting their logistics and ensuring the safety of critical infrastructure.

The NAF has also intensified armed reconnaissance flights along key power lines from Shiroro Lake to Damba, maintaining strict airspace security to safeguard ongoing repair work.

These sustained efforts, according to the Director Public Relations and Information Nigerian Air Force headquarters, Air Commodore Olusola Akinboyewa, highlight NAF’s commitment to working closely with other security agencies to protect vital national assets and guarantee the timely return of essential services for communities across Kaduna and neighboring states.
