Experts have identified nonavailability of data as the root causes of continuous attacks on innocent school children in the country.
Speakers at a virtual conference in commemoration of ten years of abduction of Chibok girls, organised by Global Rights, an international organisation on the rights of citizens, gave insights into the problem of abduction and how it can be solved.
For the Executive Director, of Invictus Africa, Bukky Shonibare, Nigeria has played around with data of victims as well as schools and their numbers and called for more investment in data sourcing to deal with the root causes of violent extremism in the country.
Bukky demanded for proper accounting on the $144.8 billion fund provided for safe learning environment in the country’s educational institutions while lamenting the state of the nation and how the kidnapped victims were not rescued .
