Nigeria Navy Promises To Work With Sister Agencies To Safeguard Abuja

Members of the Nigeria Naval Unit Abuja, took time off their busy schedules to attend its Social Activities, NUASA 2022, at the Mogadishu Barracks, Abuja to mark the end of activities for the year.
NUASA 2022, saw various barrack residents, personnel and families in attendance
Addressing the assemblage, Captain of the Naval Unit, Captain Ikenna. F. Okoloagu the end of year activity is an age long military event which provides a conducive atmosphere for relaxation and unwinding for the military and naval officers and their families.
He explained that the event started during the second World War where the Indigenous Nigerian Army gathered yearly to celebrate harvest and solicit for peace as they sought the release of soldiers from the captivity of communities.
The Captain added that the Indigenous Nigerian Army sustained the celebration after the Nigeria Independence and it spread to other sister agencies including the Navy.
The Commander, Naval Unit, Abuja, Commodore Abdulrama Mohammed in an interview, revealed that the Navy works closely with other sister agencies including the Police and Army to ensure the peace and security in the Federal Capital Territory is top notch.
Rear Admiral KO Egbuchelam commended the Nigerian Navy and sister agencies for continuing the event, thereby creating an avenue for bonding and relaxation amongst officers and family members.
The Admiral who described civilians as the bedrock of the system, revealed that the Navy places ratings from civilians highly.
There were cultural displays, games and presentations from the various barracks in attendance.
