The Nigeria Police Force has reported fresh operational successes across several states, including the neutralisation of a suspected terrorist, rescue of a kidnapped victim and recovery of firearms, ammunition and illicit drugs.

In Kebbi State, police and military personnel conducting a clearance operation in Gumki Village, Arewa Local Government Area, neutralised one suspected terrorist and recovered a PKT rifle with 174 rounds of ammunition, an AK-47 rifle with 14 rounds, four motorcycles and other exhibits.

In Katsina, operatives foiled a kidnap attempt in Kankia LGA, rescuing two women after a gun duel forced the attackers to flee into the bush with gunshot wounds.

The police also reported the arrest of suspected criminals in Ogun, Akwa Ibom, Sokoto, Delta, Ekiti, Rivers and Kogi states, with weapons, ammunition, suspected illicit drugs, stolen property and other exhibits recovered.

In Kaduna State, a kidnapped victim was rescued during search operations around Arabu Forest in Makarfi LGA on 15 September and reunited with his family after medical evaluation.

The Force further reported the arrest of a suspect over the alleged rape of an eight-year-old girl in Ringim LGA, Jigawa State.

The latest figures, contained in the Force’s state-by-state operational summary, underscore continued police and joint security operations against terrorism, kidnapping, armed robbery and other crimes across the country.

The cases remain under investigation by the respective State Criminal Investigation Departments.
