Nigeria’s Ambassador-Designate Resumes Duty In Israel, Pledges Stronger Bilateral Ties

Nigeria has taken another step towards strengthening its diplomatic presence abroad as Ambassador-designate to the State of Israel, Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu, officially resumed duty at the Nigerian Mission in Tel Aviv, with a pledge to deepen cooperation between both countries.

Expressing gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Government of Nigeria for the confidence reposed in her, Ambassador Ufochukwu described her posting as “a new chapter” and said she is eager to advance Nigeria-Israel relations.

She identified trade, innovation, security and people-to-people engagement as key priority areas during her tour of duty, stressing her commitment to fostering stronger bilateral collaboration.

Her deployment forms part of the Federal Government’s ongoing posting of a new batch of envoys.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that 65 of the 69 ambassadors-designate approved by President Tinubu have received agrément from their host countries and have proceeded to their respective missions after completing their induction programme, while four are still awaiting formal approval.

Ambassador Ufochukwu’s assumption of duty is expected to reinforce the longstanding diplomatic, economic and cultural ties between Nigeria and Israel.
