Nigeria’s growing influence in global public relations has received another major boost as Dr. Ike Neliaku, President and Chairman of Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), retained his position as Global Public Relations Chairman.

The development has been widely applauded by communication professionals and industry stakeholders, who described it as a testament to Dr. Neliaku’s visionary leadership, commitment to ethical communication, and dedication to advancing professional standards across the world.

Dr. Neliaku, who was re-elected President of NIPR in 2025, has continued to elevate Nigeria’s profile in global communication and reputation management circles.

Under his leadership, NIPR achieved international acclaim after being named the 2025 Global Public Relations Association at the World Public Relations and Communication Awards held in Lisbon, Portugal, a feat that earned commendation from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Observers say his retention in the global leadership position reflects increasing confidence in African-led communication strategies and Nigeria’s expanding role in shaping the future of public relations worldwide.

The achievement comes as NIPR prepares to host the prestigious Global Alliance World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) 2026 in Abuja from 15 to 21 November 2026, further underscoring the institute’s growing influence on the international stage.
