Soludo Calls For Relaunch Of ‘Anambra Rebirth’ To Tackle Moral Decline

At a time when concerns over the erosion of values and the growing “get-rich-quick” culture dominate public discourse, Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has called for a renewed moral awakening across the state.

Speaking in Awka while officially flagging off the 2026 Summit and Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Anambra State Chapter, the governor urged the institute to partner with his administration in relaunching the “Anambra Rebirth” initiative aimed at restoring discipline, integrity and responsible conduct in society.

Soludo said the programme, conceived as a moral rearmament project, was designed to confront what he described as a sweeping wave of moral bankruptcy threatening the social fabric of the state and the nation at large.

The governor expressed deep respect for the NIPR, describing the institute as the professional body responsible for managing reputation and image, two critical elements for individuals, institutions and governments seeking credibility.

According to him, the institute is strategically positioned to help rebuild the collapsing moral foundations of society and guide citizens towards responsible conduct.

Popularly known among Ndi Anambra as “Charlie Nwamgbafor,” Soludo lamented the growing obsession with quick wealth, warning that the trend has fuelled several negative behaviours undermining social stability.

He stressed that physical development alone cannot guarantee progress if citizens lack sound values.

“Uncultured people will make a mess of any level of physical development,” the governor warned, urging stakeholders and residents to support efforts aimed at restoring ethical standards and responsible living.

The Anambra Rebirth initiative seeks to promote civic responsibility, cultural pride and moral consciousness as part of the state’s broader development agenda.
