In a renewed push to weaken terrorist networks in Nigeria’s North-East, troops of Operation HADIN KAI have rescued abducted civilians and arrested suspected terrorist collaborators in a series of coordinated operations across Borno and Yobe states.
The military said six women and children kidnapped during a Boko Haram/ISWAP attack on Ngoshe community in March were rescued near Amuda in the Mandara Mountains following intelligence-led operations backed by air interdiction missions.
The rescued victims — Aisha Musa, Aisha Mohammed, Fatima Yahaya, Saudatu Musa, Garba Mohammed and baby Mohammed Yahaya, were immediately given medical attention before being reunited with their families through the Ngoshe community leadership.
In a separate operation in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, troops arrested a 40-year-old woman, Hauwa Bulama, suspected of aiding terrorist elements.
Military authorities said preliminary investigations revealed she was allegedly on her way to meet four of her children believed to be members of the insurgent group.
Troops also arrested two other suspects, Bakura and Adiza, in Damaturu, Yobe State, during follow-up operations linked to the interception of a suspected ammunition courier.
Investigators disclosed that Adiza was allegedly assigned to collect ammunition for onward delivery to a terrorist commander still at large.
The Joint Task Force, Operation HADIN KAI, reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining offensive operations aimed at dismantling terrorist cells, rescuing captives and restoring peace across the North-East.
