AMAC 2026: Rising Momentum Behind A ‘SMART’ New Dawn

In politics, momentum is often more powerful than money, and in the race for the 2026 chairmanship of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), that momentum appears to be shifting decisively in one direction.

Across wards, markets, faith centres and youth spaces in AMAC, the candidacy of Hon. (Dr) Comr. Eze Onyebuchi Chukwu (GPA) under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is resonating beyond party lines.

His SMART Agenda has become the rallying point for indigenes and non-indigenes, Christians and Muslims, women’s groups, community leaders and youth organisations who say they are tired of rhetoric and ready for results.

Supporters describe his campaign not as “noise,” but as a movement anchored on vision, competence and inclusion.

They point to his people-centred approach, which prioritises practical solutions to infrastructure, security, social services and economic opportunities within the council.

From Garki to Nyanya, Lugbe to Karu, the message is consistent: AMAC is ready for leadership that pairs ideas with action.

His media aide, Pst Shedrack Evans, says the growing wave of endorsement reflects a collective yearning for credible governance that works for everyone.

According to him, Hon. Chukwu’s message is so compelling that “even the deaf can hear it, the blind can see it, and the voiceless are speaking up.”

As the 2026 election season gathers pace, one thing is clear, the conversation in AMAC is no longer just about who will run, but what kind of leadership the council truly deserves.
