Unity Beyond Uniforms: Police Chief Hosts Officers’ Wives On Welfare Drive

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on Monday warmly received the President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs Mernan Femi Oluyede, alongside a distinguished delegation of presidents of other officers’ wives associations at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The visit underscored the growing recognition of welfare and humanitarian support as critical pillars of effective security institutions.
Mrs Oluyede used the engagement to reaffirm DEPOWA’s unwavering commitment to uplifting members of the security community through compassionate welfare initiatives and targeted humanitarian outreach.
She stressed that unity, resilience and empathy remain essential in strengthening morale across security institutions, noting that behind every uniform is a family whose well-being directly impacts national service.
The meeting further reinforced collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force leadership and support groups dedicated to fostering harmony, welfare and institutional stability.
