Governor Sule Celebrates Nasarawa’s Lady Golfers After Victory At Northern Zone Championship

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has lauded the State’s female golf team for their brilliant performance at the just-concluded Northern Zone Open Ladies’ Golf Championship, held at the Minna Cantonment Golf Course in Niger State.

Receiving the victorious golfers at the Government House in Lafia, the Governor described them as “champion ambassadors” who have made the State proud on a national and regional stage.

The delegation, led by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, comprised standout golfers Grace Agbo, Janet Ali, Blessing Odeh, Victoria Atamaja, Jennifer Aterbwe, Dorcas Malle, and Rose Emmanuel.

The team secured first and second positions in Categories A and B, outperforming competitors from across Nigeria and neighbouring West African countries.

Governor Sule commended their discipline, hard work, and the guidance of their coaches. “You have brought honour to Nasarawa. You are not just athletes; you are our ambassadors,” he said. He also assured them of government support and promised rewards for their achievements.

The Governor further challenged the team to maintain their momentum and remain focused. “Those you defeated will be working harder to overtake you—keep the winning spirit alive,” he advised.

Present at the event were the State Attorney General, Barr. Isaac Danladi, Secretary of the Nasarawa State Golf Association, Ms Felicia Obile Allu, and the Ministry’s Head of Public Relations, Mr Eche Amos. Trophies were presented and group photographs taken as part of the celebration.
