FG Delegation Pays Condolence Visit To Dantata Family In Madinah Ahead Of Burial
A high-powered delegation from the Federal Government of Nigeria has paid a condolence visit to the family of late elder statesman and business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, in the holy city of Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
The revered industrialist passed away on Saturday in Abu Dhabi at the age of 94. In accordance with his wishes, he will be laid to rest in Madinah on Tuesday.
Leading the Nigerian delegation was the Minister of Defence, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, accompanied by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris; and Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Honourable Yusuf Abdullahi Ata.
Also on the visit were respected Islamic clerics including Dr Bashir Aliyu Umar, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, and Khalifa Abdullahi Muhammad, Imam of the Dantata Mosque in Abuja.
The delegation was warmly received by family members, including the late Dantata’s wives, children, and grandchildren.
Speaking on behalf of the government, Defence Minister Badaru Abubakar conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s heartfelt condolences, describing the passing of Alhaji Dantata as a “deeply felt loss” and praying for Allah to grant him eternal rest in Aljannah Firdaus.
Nigeria’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Ibrahim Moddibbo, alongside the Consular General, Ambassador Muazam Ibrahim Nayaya, and the Defence Attaché, Major General Adamu Hassan, were also in attendance.
Special prayers were offered by the clerics for the repose of the soul of the late Alhaji Aminu Dantata, a man whose legacy in business, philanthropy, and nation-building continues to resonate across generations.
